My (not so) Perfect Life is a charming, funny, enjoyable read that is quintessential Sophie Kinsella. Katie Brenner is living in London, working a job that she hopes to turn into a career, but her life seems to have stalled. Her Instagram feed tells a completely different story from her actual life. Once her life completely falls apart, she moves back home to the English countryside to help her father start a camping business on the family farm. Katie is actually really good at this, and starts to realize that maybe her London life wasn’t all that.
I love Sophie Kinsella and all of her books, including the Shopaholic series, and I’ve Got Your Number. This novel did not disappoint. There is humor, romance, great scenery, and relatable characters. Sophie Kinsella paints such a vivid picture that I’m ready to buy my ticket and travel to the English countryside to go camping in a yurt (and maybe find a charming British man)!
