Confession: I am a bit of a reality TV junkie. “The Real Housewives” is HIGH on my list of TV I can just zone out to after a hard day. So it was with eager anticipation that I read Bravo denizen Andy Cohen’s latest book Superficial, having devoured his last two books (Most Talkative and The Andy Cohen Diaries respectively). Unfortunately, the title says it all: it is truly a boring, vapid, and yes, superficial look at a year in the life of Cohen. Although his other two are delightful and quick reads, I couldn’t make myself even finish this one. At one point, he relates the story of how a friend told him “Why would anyone want to read about your life?” Reluctantly, I agree with his friend. A rare miss by Cohen; Read his other two books if you want good, gossipy, light reading!
